What brought you into the business?

I studied Estate Management at Northumbria University.

Who has inspired you in the property world?

It is inspiring to learn about anyone who can set up and establish a successful business within the property industry and turn out a profit year on year.

What do you have sitting on your desk?

iPhone, diary, notepad and pen, business cards and a cup of coffee.

Downtime is?

Going to the gym and swimming on week nights, and going out in town with friends at the weekend.

Do you do lunch?

Most days I would bring something to the office, but if I’m going out to grab something quickly it’s usually to Yellow Door or Doorsteps. Harlem on Bedford Street is also a great spot.

What qualifications do you think are essential for estate agency?

Good people skills, client facing, good telephone manner, time management, thorough knowledge of current market activity and possessing a sense of urgency.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

A professional footballer for Manchester United.

If you could give it all up tomorrow, where in the world would you move to, and what would you do?

I would travel around South America for a year then possibly move to southern Italy and run my own restaurant.

Any unfulfilled ambitions?

I am very driven so I would love to run a successful business of my own. I have always wanted to visit Rio de Janeiro.

What is the most common misconception people have about estate agents?

That we are all pretentious and untrustworthy.

Your top tip for house-hunters is:

Get your finances in order first. Then thoroughly research the market and establish what is good value for money.
