What brought you into the business?

I completed my placement year with Gerry O’Connor Estate Agent and found the job to be very interesting. I think it suited my personality well and I was fortunate enough to be offered a job by Gerry.

Who has inspired you in the property world?

I would say that coming from a family involved in the property and construction industry has inspired me to take this career path. My father and brother are both involved in construction work but the office side of things suited me much better.

What do you have sitting on your desk?

My computer, my diary, phone, keys and some Earl Grey teabags.

Downtime is?

Downtime is enjoying a few pints with my mates, watching the mighty Man Utd embarrass the rest of the league weekly and spending time with my girlfriend Tara.

Do you do lunch?

Of course, I can’t miss lunch when it’s the only meal from 8:30am to 6pm. Normally a sandwich made in a rush, or a Friday chippy.

What qualifications do you think are essential for estate agency?

I don’t think there are any specific qualifications necessary as I came from a building surveying background, but I do think it’s essential to have great communication skills. It’s also very important to be punctual and have common sense.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

Believe it or not it, it was a vet! This was after I realised I would never make it as a footballer and playing hurley doesn’t pay the bills.

If you could give it all up tomorrow, where in the world would you move to, and what would you do?

I’d say Australia. It seems to be where the craic is these days.

Any unfulfilled ambitions?

I’m still young and I am still holding out hope of owning a Ferrari and my own box at Man Utd.

What is the most common misconception people have about estate agents?

People don’t realise how much time is spent working. It’s a long working day and you don’t earn a fortune.
