Weekly focus on who’s who in our local estate agents

Name Marc Fegan

Age 25

Where you live Craigavon

Married or single? dating Katie Knight, my girlfriend of five years.

Who you work for Managemint

What brought you into the business?

I started off in sales and found the property market very interesting, but since starting with Managemint the letting side of the business has been what I really enjoy. The hunger of trying to develop the company makes it all worthwhile.

Who has inspired you in the property world?

No one really, just the idea of making a name for myself in the property world is the inspiration.

What do you have sitting on your desk?

Pen, cup, notebook, laptop and lots of files. Filing was never my strong point.

Downtime is?

I play Gaelic and football regularly and enjoy a game of poker every now and again with the mates.

Do you do lunch?

Usually I just have a sandwich in the office with a trusty cup of tea, but I must confess I am a fan of junk food and find myself at the chippy once a week.

What qualifications do you think are essential for estate agency?

In my opinion as long as you are a good communicator, know how to deal with customers/clients and you are a quick learner you have the right skills for this industry.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

The same as every young boy, I wanted to be a footballer but you quickly realise that isn’t going to happen.

If you could give it all up tomorrow, where in the world would you move to, and what would you do?

I would love to move to Miami and open up my own estate agency, it beats Northern Ireland’s weather any day.

Any unfulfilled ambitions?

I’ve always wanted to do a skydive but haven’t got round to it yet.

What is the most common misconception people have about estate agents?

That we’re all the same.

Your top tip for house-hunters is:

Don’t rush in. There are plenty of good deals around at the moment and it is a buyers’ market.
