As the housing market begins to show green roots of recovery, one local Further Education College is delighted to inform estate agents of its own investment in the industry with news that it has become the first in the province to offer a specialist course in property management, which is set to help estate agents extend their expertise.

The brand new course, delivered by South Eastern Regional College (SERC), covers a wide range of specialist modules focusing mainly on the specialist skills that are required to offer a high standard of customer service to today’s knowledge-savvy consumer.

One local estate agent who is already benefiting from this bespoke training course is Templeton Robinson who have collaborated with SERC to up skill their sales team, which it said will improve customer service, business performance and staff motivation.

Templeton Robinson Director Jonathan Steen had this to say: “Investment in skills development is critical for enhancing our commitment to customer service and building a competitive edge. The bespoke course was designed to advance the knowledge and capabilities of our sales team. In today’s climate you have to work harder and smarter to succeed so it’s essential to have a talented workforce that can ensure the smooth running of buying or selling a property. Some of the staff on the course have worked in the industry for several years but have no formal qualifications recognising their experience. This training offers employees the opportunity to enhance their skill set and acts as a great motivator as it isn’t always available in other companies. I would encourage other local companies to talk to their local college when they’re looking to build their team and develop its products.”

Templeton Robinson received a 75 per cent discount off the cost of the training, thanks to funding provided by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL).
