RPP Architects ‘honoured’ to sponsor Belfast Telegraph Property Awards 2017

Renowned local firm, RPP Architects celebrated 40 years of practice in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry this year.

Four experienced directors, Harry McConnell, Peter McGirr, Alan Shields and Simon Robinson has helped to lead the firm to success. RPP Architects is one of Northern Ireland’s longest-standing architectural companies.

The firm is situated on Belfast’s Donegall Pass in an eye-catching four storey red brick building and is on the doorstep on the historic Gasworks. The firm can also be found on Clarendon Street in Derry/Londonderry.

RPP Architects works across many sectors within Northern Ireland, the UK and internationally, including retail, commercial, education, healthcare, community and transport projects. The firm also designs bespoke home for their clients.

From smaller projects to landmark building, the architect firm creates buildings across the sector. They have many distinctive buildings in their portfolio, including the Bank of Ireland headquarters on Donegall Square, the McClay library at Queen’s University and the Europa Hotel.

In 2005, RPP Architects won the prestigious RIBA Award for Old See House, a North Belfast mental health resource centre. They are currently working on many projects including the 120,000 sq ft Belfast Harbour Film Studios at Giants Park, a new waterside Marriott hotel at City Quays, The Ebrington Hotel in Derry, a new mental health inpatient unit at Belfast City Hospital and the Hastings Group’s Grand Central Hotel.

Their work also extends to the residential sector, designing private homes, refurbishments, extensions and interior.

What helps RPP to stand out among other architects is their dedicated interior design team that assist with design choices such as selecting a site, landscaping, lighting layouts, choosing paint colours, fabric choices, designing pieces of furniture, bookshelves and staircases.

The firm also provided in the region of £100m of social housing and community regeneration schemes across Northern Ireland as well as student housing in north and south Belfast.
