Rory McIlroy’s Former Residence for Sale

Simon Brien Residential has been instructed to sell Robinhall House – undoubtedly one of Northern Ireland’s most exclusive properties.  The former home of Rory McIlroy is situated just outside Belfast near Moneyreagh in County Down and has come to the market priced at £2.5 million.

The stunning five bedroom 7,200 sq ft property, set in 14 acres of award winning landscaped gardens including a bespoke golf course, is excellent value according to Simon Brien:  “Both of the owners to date have invested significantly in the property – so much so that a recent estimate to build the property and establish the unique amenities including the nine-hole ‘world-class’ golf course, tennis court, the freshwater lake and the landscaped gardens would actually cost upwards of £4 million.”

The house itself couldn’t be more luxurious, with five double bedrooms, each with their own en suite bathroom and dressing room, five reception rooms including a cinema room, a stunning modern kitchen, and a beautiful sun room with views over the grounds – all interlinked with a touch screen multi room control system that means everything, from the mood lighting and window blinds to the audio visual systems, can be controlled at the touch of a button.

“There is nothing like it in Ireland,” advises Simon:  “It represents an opportunity for a buyer to have a truly unique property that offers privacy, luxurious contemporary living, lifestyle and heritage.  We are anticipating huge interest in the property and are already targeting markets throughout Europe and the U.S.”

Outside the property there is a converted barn featuring a gymnasium with a kitchenette and office space separate to the house – whilst garaging exists for at least three cars and flexible accommodation for a live in au-pair.  The professionally laid golf practice area has been designed to win majors – by a major winner – and includes different grass types used on some of the world’s most famous golf courses including St Andrews Old Course, Augusta and Pebble Beach.

Among the floodlit walkways there is an all-weather tennis court, an outdoor barbeque area, mature gardens and a luxury outdoor hot tub overlooking the freshwater pond stocked with over 1,200 brown trout.  The surrounding gardens recently won an award for being one of the best landscaped gardens in Ireland with all paths leading to the immaculate golf course, which is in constant demand from both corporate clients and American golf tourists.

Gary McCausland, the property developer who currently owns Robinhall House is selling up after over two years of family life in the unique home: “We have absolutely adored living in Robinhall House however my professional commitments are increasingly taking me to London and Paris and we have found we are spending less and less time at home.  After a lot of thought we feel it is time to let someone else enjoy what is truly a very special place.”
