Over the last 12 months Pinkertons has worked closely with Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke on a range of fundraising initiatives from charity bag packs to coffee mornings and from various sporting events, including a corporate golf tournament to Christmas Jumper days. Knowing the vital support NICHS provide across Northern Ireland and the impact even the smallest donation can have, it was with great pride that the Managing Director for Pinkertons, Victoria Pinkerton was able to present the charity with a cheque on behalf of the Company for £1865.54!

Speaking on the presentation Victoria said “The effects of a chest, heart or stroke illness is not just physical; it affects suffers emotionally and socially, and whilst timely and effective medical intervention is essential, people with long term health conditions also need support and guidance to manage their conditions, and lives on a daily basis. This is why we chose Northern Ireland Chest, Heart & Stroke as our Charity Partner twelve months ago and are delighted to announce that we will be continuing our Corporate Partnership for a further twelve months”.

Today in Northern Ireland 10 people will suffer a heart attack, 11 people will have a stroke and 1 in every 8 deaths will result from respiratory failure. In addition to this over 200,000 people are living with long term chest, heart, or stroke conditions. In fact, 40% of adult deaths in Northern Ireland are from chest, heart or stroke conditions.
