Co Down estate agents Pinkertons has opened a new branch in Comber in an investment of £150,000 as a gradual recovery in the housing market continues.

Pinkertons first opened in Bangor nine years ago, and the Comber branch is its second branch. The agency now employs 15 people after taking on five new staff. Its location of North Down and Ards has been one of the best-performing areas for house sales in Northern Ireland and is home to the highest average prices.

The standardised house price in the area is around £135,988, according to the most recent Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP) residential property price index. That was up 5% year on year, and up 2% quarter on quarter. It was followed closely by Lisburn and Castlereagh with a standardised price of £135,977.

Managing director Victoria Pinkerton (left, seated) was joined by associate Erin Johnston and valuer Peter Morrison.
