The UK law firm, TLT, has announced the appointment of Kevin Murphy as partner in its Belfast office.

Kevin is known for his knowledge in real estate and specialism in energy and renewables. He joins Judith Allen who heads up the real estate team in Belfast.

TLT has teamed up with the Belfast Telegraph by sponsoring the Residential Lettings Agency of the Year Award in the 2017 Property Awards, supporting its clients in the property sector.

Sarah Ewing, legal director at TLT, expressed: “We are delighted to be sharing in the annual recognition of the outstanding individuals and organisations that contribute to this market’s success.

“We wish all those nominated the best of luck and look forward to continuing to support this vibrant sector in the year ahead.

“The celebrated Belfast Telegraph Property Awards are this year being held against a backdrop of cautious optimism and signs of strong potential for growth in the industry.

“This is the case even despite ongoing uncertainty around the economic impact of the UK leaving the EU on the region and the political instability at Stormont.

“Significant announcements about the construction of new hotels in Belfast reflect a growth in tourism, and growth in the retail market is continuing as the fall in sterling attracts cross-border shoppers to NI.

“The housing market in particular remains buoyant and continues to show an upward trend, with the average house price in the region now sitting at £128,650.

“The lending market is benefiting from this, with banks reporting an increase in the number of residential mortgages provided.

“I myself continue to act for one of the largest and most active private and social housing developers with sites across NI and ambitious plans to construct several hundred new houses in the north west over the next couple of years.

“TLT is extremely proud to be sponsoring an award that recognises the excellent work being done in the housing market.”

TLT supports public institutions, high growth businesses and large corporate companies on their strategic and day-to-day legal requirements.

The company is able to offer advise across three UK legal jurisdictions of England & Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, with offices in London, Bristol, Manchester, Belfast, Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as a specialist ship finance team in Greece.

TLT has an abundance of experience advising companies in the energy and renewables, housing, public sector, leisure, financial services, retails and consumer good and TMT sectors.
