Leading estate agency John Minnis is this month celebrating their first anniversary in the thriving Belfast office, selling over £14 million worth of property to-date.
John Minnis launched the Belfast office in November 2012, and since then has reported a 33 per cent growth in sales across the three offices, compared to the same period last year, with 60 per cent of properties agreed in less than one month.
The blossoming sales, lettings and property management agency, located in Holywood, Donaghadee and Belfast, began trading in July 2005 and most recently has played its part in a resurgent property market.
Director John Minnis is thrilled that business has performed so well.
He said: “I am absolutely delighted to celebrate our Belfast office’s first anniversary.
“The decision to expand into the Belfast market was an easy one; we have been selling property across Belfast for close to a decade and the increase in demand in our services called for a physical high street presence.
“At the time of opening, it is fair to say that the industry was still suffering from the deepest property recession in Northern Ireland’s history; however, we identified definite green shoots and growth areas, not least east and south Belfast and as far as the Four Winds, Carryduff and Saintfield, which has only strengthened in the last year.
“Back in 2005, the company started with a team of only four, and we now employ 17 with two new recent additions in our Belfast office. Sales are growing and we even now see bidding wars on many of our properties, something which we hadn’t experienced on a daily basis in a long time.
““I am thankful to the Belfast team, headed up by Chris Kirk, that we have managed to grow our sales quite substantially, which is simply down to the perseverance, dedication and professionalism of the individuals within this company, which is not just in Belfast but right across the three branches.
“We have seen huge developments in technology being applied to residential sales and lettings. Our new website and iPhone app, which truly gives our clients that competitive edge, but at the end of the day; it’s down to relationship building and a proactive approach in the market.
“We have also launched our property management service headed up by MARLA accredited dedicated property manager, Jilly Stewart.
“I am also particularly proud our awards win from the UK estate agent industry awards (ESTAs), where we were won the gold and silver in Best Lettings and Best Sales agency in Northern Ireland category’s and were awarded the title of the third Best Small Chain in the UK.
John concluded, “I am thrilled that the company is continuing to grow in all of our offices, Belfast continues to be a great place to rent, buy and sell property and I look forward to a prosperous 2014.”
