Approximately 600 new homes are to be constructed in Co. Antrim as part of a £100m scheme.

Belfast based company, Nuport Developments, are proposing two new developments in Larne. These will be located on the Ballyboley Road and the Ballyhampton Road.

Public consultations on the plans for both schemes are due to take place on September 14th and 15th

The company believes that these developments will create around 120 construction jobs and will take between five to ten years to fully complete.

The development that is to be located in Ballyboley is set to comprise of around 500 new family dwellings that will include a mixture of house types such as detached, semi-detached, townhouses and apartments.

It is believed that the second proposed development located on the Ballyhampton Road will include 135 homes.

Bryan Orr, representing Nuport Developments, stated:

“We are really pleased to show our plans to build high-quality, bespoke family homes here in Larne. This is a period of consultation with the local community in both areas, and we are keen to reach out and hear back from people living in the area.

“If granted planning permission, we would begin work immediately, creating many construction jobs during a building project that could last up to ten years at the Larne West site. The investment will also mean a huge boost for the local economy.

“The demand for new family homes in the Larne area is significant and these are our proposals to bring forward quality developments on land that has already been zoned for residential development.”
