£20k Newtownabbey home among the bargains at upcoming auction

A half an acre of land from £12,000, a house priced at £20,000 and an end terrace in the sought-after Stranmillis area at £85,000 are all on auction at Belfast’s Clayton Hotel.

The Osborne King auction will be held at the Clayton Hotel, Ormeau Avenue at 11am on Friday 20th October. Many residential properties, offices and shops are to be auctioned off.

Mark Carron, director at Osborne King said he anticipates the combined price of all 63 lots at the auction to be approximately £5.5m. He stated: “We are currently experiencing a high volume of interest and offers on lots in the catalogue and expect the sale to go very well. Our June auction was very successful, raising over £11.6m and our biggest auction sale since 2007. We intend to hold an additional 2017 auction on December 1st and are currently collating properties for this catalogue. This catalogue will be released in early November.”

The half an acre of land in Clough, Ballymena, will be the lowest priced lot in the October auction. At £12,000, the land was once approved planning permission for a house and garage. Those interested are urged to pursue further planning opportunities.

Shops to be auctioned off include the former Gino Casual store in Ballymena. This property has a starting price of £60,000. Three miles from George Best Belfast City Airport, a two-storey office building with parking will be auctioned with a starting price of £56,000. The offices are said to be found in one of Northern Ireland’s premier office and industrial settings.

In Co. Londonderry, a terrace of 15 one-bed apartments are on the market and priced from £375,000. According to the property agency, these dwellings can generate £56,000 in rental fees per year.

Also on the market is a three-bedroom home in Newtownabbey with a starting price of £20,000 and a potential annual rental income of £5,400. In the highly sought-after Stranmillis, a two-bedroom end terrace will be auctioned off starting at £85,000.

Commercial real estate agency, Lambert Smith Hampton will also be hosting a property auction on Friday 6th October in Belfast’s Europa Hotel.
