A Co Down GAA club has launched a competition with a brand new house as its star prize.

St Patrick’s GAC Mayobridge, has launched a fundraising raffle where entries are priced at £100 a go and the lucky winner moving into their new home worth £150,000.

The club, seven miles outside Newry, is celebrating 130 years by providing an astonishing main prize of an eye-catching three-bedroom property in Banbridge. The semi-detached home is situated in the Bishops Green development close to Bridgewater Park and The Boulevard Shopping complex.

Working with a local developer Lotus Homes, the club secured a house in the prestigious new development and the keys of the property will be handed over to the lucky winner next August.

Located just off the Castlewellan Road the property enjoys great links across the country with easy access to both Belfast and Dublin via the A1 dual-carriageway.

Mayobridge GAC finance committee secretary Michael Toner said: “We’re delighted to launch our ‘Win An A1 House‘ campaign that could change someone’s life.

“For just £100 one lucky person will win a house worth £150,000 in a great location, while we think the other prizes aren’t bad either. This major fundraising undertaking is to develop and extend our facilities and to grow our existing playing facilities.”
